The person we select for this position will be responsible for developing an internal use/client facing web application from the ground up (we have a complete design created with some wireframes). In addition, you will be designing and editing websites for our clients – most of which will be “small” in scope (less than 100 hours) and using an open source CMS system such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal. We have a relaxed and stress-free work environment. This is NOT a contract/1099 position – this is for full-time employment.
Responsibilities include:
- Building the mentioned internal use web application from established design documents
- Provide input on site design modifications and improvements
- Interview clients on their website design requirements
- Consulting on web design concepts and practices
- Convert client need requirements to a task list which can be included in proposals
- Document all work completed/time spent for client invoicing
- Assist in growing a team of programmers
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years full-time professional experience as a web developer
- College Degree/Formal post-secondary education is a plus
- Proficient in HTML, PHP, SQL, and CSS languages (LAMP)
- Additional scripting experience is a plus (Java, .NET, AJAX)
- Working knowledge of WordPress, Joomla, and/or Drupal
- Experience developing WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal templates is a plus
- Ability to work with and manipulate web graphics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of SEO/SEM concepts
- Able to work independently and see projects through from start to finish
- Set reasonable timeline expectations and complete tasks on-time
- A professional and approachable demeanor
